We’re passionate about our people and our product, and are looking for someone to help grow our genuine, talented and collaborative team. As our first dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll have the unique opportunity to develop and implement our internal recruitment and onboarding processes from the ground up, and build a Talent Acquisition function that is attracting and sourcing candidates who are excited to contribute to our growth plans.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will have autonomy to make this role your own as we grow - crafting the end-to-end employee lifecycle and delivering on our commitment and objectives to our people - to make YC the best place to work.

A little about the role:

  • Own and manage the first stages of our employee lifecycle - attraction, recruitment and onboarding – working closely with our people leaders across our core teams of Engineering, Customer and Operations.
  • Design and implement talent sourcing strategies that ensure we’re reaching a diverse pool of candidates who are excited to contribute to the Yellow Canary journey.
  • Work alongside our people leaders to assist in crafting job descriptions by defining roles, responsibilities and requirements.
  • Develop and implement an employer branding strategy that is in line with the Yellow Canary employer value proposition.
  • Create Key Performance Indicators and recruitment metrics to measure the success of the Talent Acquisition function.
  • Own and/or support other facets of our People & Culture offering as we grow, including our HR policies, employee engagement strategies, and development and retention strategies.
  • Acting as a champion of Yellow Canary values and our exciting growth plans to potential candidates and our networks.

A little about you:

  • Experience growing internal teams with a successful track record of hiring top talent
  • Ideally you have worked within the tech/engineering/start-up space and/or have some experience in hiring technical roles.
  • Passionate about delivering a first-class candidate experience, guiding the entire team on best practices and building processes that support our goal to be the best place to work.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced scale-up.
  • Experience working with Linkedin Recruiter and other direct sourcing channels.
  • Experience using multiple ATS systems, with experience implementing any one of them as an added advantage e.g. WorkDay, Taleo, PageUp etc.
  • Excited by employer branding and implementing social media strategies.
  • You may have experience in a HR generalist capacity and excited to branch into recruitment.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, and you enjoy working with different teams.
